A contemporary abstract expressionistic painting – acrylic paint with oil pastel and mark making details on stretched canvas.

This artwork began life as an abstract but the addition of the yellow paint inspired an evolution into an abstract still life. On standing back to review the piece, the yellow popped out as abstract flowers in a vase on a windowsill, the red was draping like a curtain and, through the abstraction, is glimpsed the bay. It is a dream-like piece, where you look beyond the immediate environment and watch in wonder all that can be seen along the coast and beyond. Travel and life by the coast were the starting point for this contemporary artwork.
